I have gained eight years of experience within the Bridal and Eveningwear industry, working for the designer Sassi Holford. I have progressed within the company from bespoke cutter; cutting all the high-end bespoke bridal and evening wear designs. To the present where I am the sole made to measure pattern cutter and production coordinator for the cutting department, managing a team of seven. For the past five years I have also designed for So Sassi a second bridal range from Sassi Holford. My various jobs roles have helped me to gain a vast knowledge of the high level of craftsmanship needed to create a perfect bridal or evening gown. I appreciate the importance of creating accurate patterns; actioning all amendments; creating clear specification sheets and costings; whilst maintaining communication in an often fast pace environment. I have worked with a wide range of fabrics from delicate silks, chiffons, expensive laces to stretch and heavy cloths. I am confident working in a fast paced and high-pressured environment, my role as a pattern cutter often involves simultaneously working on new designs as well as bespoke and made to measures with several different deadlines. As the sole made to measure pattern cutter, I am responsible for looking at customer measurements and creating patterns that deliver the perfect fit.
