I have over 7 years experience working with Jane James Coastal Ceramics, where I have worked in a variety of roles developing a set of skills which include hand painting techniques using various glazes, clay moulding and fettling, kiln firing, and others, including customer service. I am confident in working independently and using initiative within a design brief. One of the projects I was in charge of was designing a collection of earrings and buttons taking into consideration the clients’ needs and expectations. I also had to learn how to paint with glaze very precisely, paying close attention to detail.
Whilst working for the ceramicist Jane James I hosted and supervised children’s parties for paint your own pottery. The sharing of my creative skills with young children was incredibly rewarding.

This summer I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a First Class Honours Degree in Textile Design where I learnt a variety of skills which include, hand stitching, sewing, fabric manipulation, hob dying, various drawing and printing techniques. I specialised in print as I love the way you can completely change a surface by adding different colours, patterns and textures. Other specific skills include dying, colour matching, painting, weave and print processes including repeat set up.
