During my time at DDB, me and my partner Kiran Strickland were assigned as the main creative team for AA Insurance, L&P (Coca Cola Amatil) and STIHL, and we also were one of the teams working for McDonald’s. Other accounts that we worked for included BMW, The Warehouse, Sky, Auckland Council, Mobil and Ecostore. Our campaigns were published on different media, from TV commercials, digital platforms, social media, activation, print or outdoor.
My role as an Art Director began concepting the idea for a campaign, creating the presentation and selling the work to the client. Once the idea was approved, my role consisted in defining the campaign look and feel, gathering and supervising a group of creative talent that could bring the idea to life, from photographers, retouchers, illustrators to TV directors. Many times, when we worked with different production companies, my responsibility was to accurately translate our idea into their specific tone and style to match the client and agency expectations.
Our work on AA Insurance and L&P faced high expectations from the clients, as these two classic kiwi brands left their previous agencies when they couldn’t deliver effective work to help their brand grow. We developed a good relationship with their marketing teams and convinced them to create two 360 campaigns that were effective in both product sales and brand growth. We also worked on the McDonald’s account, a high demanding client that expected new work every week. Many of our campaigns were published, from small outdoor for McCafé to bigger campaigns for Kiwiburger or The Lions Tour, and even a real family show for Ronald McDonald.
Finally, we spent many afterhours to deliver proactive work that was pitched in many occasions to our clients, such as a campaign for STIHL water blasters that was published nationwide.

Back in 2015, Ogilvy & Mather New Zealand was looking for creatives from different countries and backgrounds. When I heard about this opportunity I applied immediately as New Zealand has great fame in advertising, but also because it has always been a country that I wanted to explore.
My role as an Art Director in Ogilvy led me to work on different accounts such as KFC, Powerade, Coca Cola, BP, Sealord, Kimberly Clark, Countdown supermarket, New Zealand Police and Rebel Sports. Me and my partner Barrett Helander had to work on different tasks such as the retail work for Rebel Sports, social campaigns for Countdown supermarkets or brand campaigns for Sealord and KFC. Moreover, we were involved in many pitches for new business and brand campaigns for our existing clients. We also were full integrated with the team from Geometry, which allowed us to concept, pitch and execute activation campaigns for other clients such as Kellogg´s, Purina or GSK.
Again, part of my job was to bring proactive ideas and present them to advertising awards. Our campaign for Kellogg´s got a Bronze at the 2016 AXIS AWARDS, which recognizes the creative excellence in New Zealand.
