Currently a self-employed audio editor, I work freelance on Audio Post Production projects including dubbing/mixing, foley/sound design and voiceover recording for documentaries, audiovisual fiction and short form media, podcasts and interviews. I also capture my own field recordings, having studied Sonic Arts, I am well versed in this area, including the practical application of said recordings.
A creative platform aiming to create a voice for young emerging artists in London, we do this through regular short promotional videos showcasing the artists work and giving them a chance to outline who they are and what they are all about. In this role I co-manage research and planning, primary sound recordist and complete audio post-production. https://www.adept-gaze.com
General duties included assisting in ensuring the facilities run smoothly on a day to day basis by providing assistance to the crew with a strong emphasis on the audio department, in depth knowledge of television and post-production required. My main duties within the audio department included prepping sessions (mostly Pro-Tools) in the five studios, prepping voice over, track laying, editing voice over tracks, sound design and maintaining a comprehensive in-house audio library. This role and the aforementioned freelance work require advanced DAW skills and knowledge, mostly with Pro-Tools, which I use daily.
Intensive one year Masters degree which developed skills in experimental musical composition for film, installations and otherwise. During the year my knowledge of sound art history and contemporary art has become advanced, very knowledgeable in this area. Capturing field recordings and apply practical applications wether that be in sound design, experimental musical composition or for delivery to bigger companies and brands for corporate and/or artistic use. Strong emphasis on familiarisation with multiple DAWs, some common place like Pro-Tools, some less known like Cecilia 5, Mammut and MAX MSP. The above are all signal processing DAWs and systems capable of complex algorithms. These are especially useful in sound design, allowing me to create almost anything that is needed with the ability to replicate 'real-life' sounds for dramatic effect, saving time recording or searching for previously recorded sound. The Masters degree also equipped me with the ability to compose ten-thousand word reflective essays, giving me insight into the workings of a project, critically analysing why and how something works, benefits and detriments. This is especially helpful for general trouble shooting with sound projects and in a more general perspective the work of others, I believe that this makes me a reliable and consistent team player.
