About me
Nutshell: 1. Hi. I'm Bria Woods and I am a Visual Storyteller. 3. My public speaking skills captivate in front of the camera, and my directing and editing skills impress behind the camera. 4. I am eager to join a team that is as infatuated with the still and moving image as I am. The Whole Enchilada: I believe that my expertise as a visual storyteller with a strong technical and production background within the journalism ecosystem are the skills needed to be successful in this role and as part of your team. My passion for documentaries and storytelling in journalism is supported by my time as a Director and Producer of “Sea, Sand and Startups”, a fifteen minute on-location documentary in Jamaica about the state of entrepreneurship and new business investment in the country. In this role I researched, scripted, sourced interviewees, directed and edited the entire piece from start to finish. I have also had the honor of working as a professional photographer and photojournalist which instilled a deep appreciation and understanding of cinematography in my film work. As a proud millennial, I have a keen understanding of the young and #woke voice; one that is diverse, inclusive and relevant. My entrepreneurial/ marketing background will allow me to ideate and execute client-facing, inspirational and creative work for a global audience. My journalism experience has taught me the ins and outs of newsroom etiquette and how to manage a fast-paced work environment. I am a young Black woman from Texas, by way of D.C. and I am proficient in Spanish and I love tacos. I am described by those who know me well and by those who just met me as unique, energetic and adorkable. I am confident I will be an asset to your diverse and inclusive multi-cultural tapestry. I am based in London and am available to come chat with you in person about projects, my skills and experience of where to find the best Mexican food in London:)
