About me
I am a motivated, tenacious and dependable individual who is able to collaborate well with others. Emerging from a creative background, I have a wide range of experiences that I believe make me extremely adaptable. My current practice involves working within very restrictive constraints including handling minimal budgets, short deadlines and project managing other artists. This has meant I have built strong interpersonal skills and resilience to working under pressure. I am keen to work in an environment that allows me to develop these skills and continually build on my experiences.
Projects
  • Illustration
IllustrationStemming from a fascination with people and culture, my illustrative work can be described as an ongoing study into subcultures, and in turn their broader significance in British society.
  • Today Will Be a Good Day
Today Will Be a Good DayAn intimate series documenting a life affected by depression. By building a portfolio of visual and performative processes over four months, my objective was to open and engage with a dialogue with my audience. By encouraging audience participation, my intent was to confront the viewer with the presence of the outsider, as well as initiating a didactic voyeurism.
  • Collage
CollageA selection of collage works, demonstrating a process-led, spontaneous approach to making.

Work history
    Volunteer
     -
As a volunteer for Pyramid of Arts, a participated in both the "Movement' and 'Sensory' Groups, which focused on creating stimulating and creative environments for people living with multiple and profound disabilities. My role as a volunteer was to observe, engage with and encourage members to engage with creativity as individuals, and to facilitate an environment where disability was never viewed as a limitation.
    Bookseller
     -
Holding a number of responsibilities during the busy start of term period, my main duties included (not exhaustive): - Working at one of the branch connect sites (Huddersfield University) to promote the brand and work towards a sales target (I achieved a 70% sales increase on the previous year in the three weeks I was stationed.) - Dealing with a high influx of customer orders whilst providing excellent customer service. - Staging promotional events during the BTU period (including the Leeds Beckett fresher’s fair) to create awareness of the store and the various offers that were available to Blackwell’s main target audience. - Upholding the company ethos at all times to ensure customer loyalty during an upheaval of the company’s management structure. - Developing an innovative manner in which to deal with the competition driven by the online market.
