Working alongside the designer for the denim led, trend focused womenswear brand AND/OR at John Lewis. Reporting to both the designer and the head of design. Solely responsible for designing and managing the jersey range for the brand, and ensuring product is in line with the ethos of the brand. Assist in designing soft wovens, knit and outerwear and research new denim washes and key shapes for each season. Consistently designed best selling styles for AND/OR, introduced new silhouettes and created a successful fabric and style architecture within the jersey range. Regularly present the range and design development to key stakeholders. Manage the Design Assistant and ensure clear communication and delegation of tasks. Liaise with Europe and Asia based suppliers on a daily basis and work closely alongside buying and merch teams. Product development trips and factory visits with suppliers based in India and Portugal.
Woven and Jersey multi-product designer working across both the brands; Ghost and Hawes + Curtis, and the supplier Low profile. Reported directly to the head of design to present new ideas for both the high street accounts as well as the premium in house brand Ghost. Created a core jersey dress range and developed new silhouettes, many of which sold on to clients such as Monsoon and Marks + Spencer. Worked directly with in-house pattern-cutters + seamstresses to bring designs to life. Sourced key fabrics from UK + abroad. Liaised with factories and merchandisers in Turkey.

Responsibilities include: -Sole responsibility + management for multiple womenswear brand accounts. -Attending regular meetings with buyers and designers. -Managing critical path from brief to final product. -Compiling trend boards and research packs. -Designing trend led jersey and woven mix product, across tops, dresses and jackets and trousers. -Creating detailed garment specs on Adobe Illustrator for factories in Far East. -Creating stripe and jacquard artwork for fabric development. -Fabric sourcing across international fairs and with individual agents. -Carrying out regular development shopping trips both in the UK and abroad.

Designer in residence at a contemporary studio space in Edinburgh, where I spent the past 4 months developing and creating a new womenswear collection and a range of digital textile prints. Beginners dressmaking tutor, organising and teaching a class of 7 adults on a 10 week evening course.
Store manager at a limited edition pop up boutique supporting 22 independent Scottish brands and designers. Responsibilities included: -Full stock input and management using Magento ecommerce software. -Managing a team of 5 assistants, including staff training. -In-store visual merchandising. -Liaising between designers, stylists, press and PR companies and arranging in store workshops and events promoting Scottish designers. -Maintaining stock control and theft management. -Banking, brand reports and takings updates.
Freelance stylist for local ethical fashion brand Ala Mairi. Styled the lookbook and online product shots.
Responsibilities included: -Offering impeccable customer service. -Managing and maintaining the Reiss concession in John Lewis 3 days a week. -Visual merchandising for the concession. -Main communicator between John Lewis and Reiss, Edinburgh. -Analysing KPI’s and reporting updates to the Area Manager via weekly conference calls.
