NCS The Challenge is a social integration NGO that creates opportunities for young people from hugely diverse backgrounds to acquire new skills and develop solutions to challenges which will benefit both them and their local communities. As a Programme Administrator in a fast-paced and demanding office environment, I ensure the smooth running of The Challenge's summer programmes across Greater Manchester by: - Planning and prioritising multiple programmes running simultaneously - Preparation of programme documents and materials - Managing programme logistics - Liaising with external stakeholders - Coordinating with numerous departments in different locations - Securely handling large quantities of sensitive data I have also acquired an extensive understanding of risk management, safeguarding and GDPR that demands using my own judgement and responding with tact and sensitivity.
The International Office and Welcome Services Unit at the Università di Pisa coordinates various student mobility and exchange programmes as well as assisting international students throughout their time in Pisa. As an intern office assistant, I was responsible for: - Management, translation, editing and proofreading of all promotional material - Translation support to the University's website, legal and academic documents - Office administration - Monitoring the inventory of all promotional material - Implementation of the Unit’s ‘Internationalisation Project’: organisation and running of orientation and welcome events, cultural exchange meetings and the yearly International Student Party - Administering evaluation surveys on the Unit’s events - Coaching international students on presentation skills for the Unit’s events
Ambassadors for the School of Arts, Languages & Cultures play a crucial role in student recruitment, the promotion of the University and the study of languages. I was soon promoted to a Senior Student Ambassador role involving: - Organisation of weekly applicant open day events - Training and coordination of ambassadors - Independently delivering presentations, Q&A sessions and campus tours - Managing groups of up to 150 people - Handling sensitive phone calls from anxious students seeking a place at University, having not obtained their expected grades at college In the Schools Outreach Office, I also worked within schools to promote the benefits of higher education and the study of foreign languages and cultures to increase the number of students developing proficiency in another language: - Delivering interactive ‘Why Study Languages’ talks in schools - Facilitating workshops such as filmed role plays in the target language or creating foreign language subtitles for a short film clip

Thorough grounding in the French and Italian languages, as well as in the literature, history, culture and linguistics of Francophone and Italophone countries. Excellent communication skills and heightened cultural and linguistic awareness. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme: studied at the Université des Antilles in Martinique for one semester. Blogger for the ‘Student Language Bureau’ website Sept 2016 – July 2017, writing twice-monthly posts aimed at advising students preparing for a year abroad. Individually selected to represent my degree programme and deliver a presentation for the Dean of Humanities' visit to the School of Arts, Languages & Cultures.
