I was soon promoted to a Senior Student Ambassador role involving: - Organisation of weekly applicant open day events - Training and coordination of ambassadors - Independently delivering presentations, Q&A sessions and campus tours - Managing groups of up to 150 people - Handling sensitive phone calls from anxious students seeking a place at University, having not obtained their expected grades at college In the Schools Outreach Office, I also worked within schools to promote the benefits of higher education and the study of foreign languages and cultures to increase the number of students developing proficiency in another language: - Delivering interactive ‘Why Study Languages’ talks in schools - Facilitating workshops such as filmed role plays in the target language or creating foreign language subtitles for a short film clip
