About me
An ideas-driven media professional with 5 years experience in the sector. My business ethos has been to create a publication central to community life. The assertion that empathy and human connections are a driving force for change has motivated me towards involvement with organisations and initiatives that strive to promote those values. By informing and entertaining, my focus has been to help my community reduce their carbon footprint and engage with companies that are making a positive difference in the world. Thorough research skills combined with excellent writing and a good grasp of my target audience have ensured success. Am now looking to use my expertise to work firmly within the environmental sector.

English language radio presenter for the popular ski resort of Val d'Isère, communicating vital snow and safety information to the town's large English seasonal community. As well as broadcasting the news and weather live throughout the day, the station provided opportunities for listeners to get involved with various activities throughout winter. During the pandemic, I presented a roundup of the International COVID19 situation, alongside local updates, something that was hugely appreciated by the community at large. Alongside greater engagement with our audience on social media, I started a weekly evening show, Soundproof Sundays, which garnered a devoted following. The show featured a roster of local guests, listener requests and a changing theme around which the show was built.

After working as staff writer and photographer for beloved local magazine, the Val d'Isère Echo, I purchased the publication and shaped a new ethos of community engagement. This involved local artists designing the cover art each week, feature articles from a wide range of contributors, collaboration with local environmental initiatives and raising money for tree planting with charity Echo T shirts. I redesigned the logo, print magazine and website and oversaw an increase in advertising revenue of 20%. At the end of the winter season, the Echo team organised the infamous World Monoski Championships (as featured in the Fall Line Magazine, Ski and Board and Wikipedia's entry for Monoskiing). The event gathered 600 or so enthusiasts of 80s ski fashion for a day of monoski racing and in 2019, the day featured an afterparty with the legendary British DJ Norman Jay, allowing us to raise money for the local environmental charity Ecomove.
