About me
I’m a writer, script reader and producer. My short film, ENJOY, starring Himesh Patel, premiered at 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and won Best UK Short Film at the Raindance Film Festival and British Short Film Awards. As a writer I also run Fledgling Theatre Company and have been shortlisted for the Channel 4 Screenwriting Programme, the Edinburgh TV Festival NETFLIX ‘Stage to Screen’ Award and an Off West End Award. I’ve been working in a freelance capacity as a writer and script reader and have written script reports for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Award and the Popcorn Group New Writing Award. With Fledgling Theatre, I have focused on developing new writing and was supported by Arts Council England. In this role I wrote, produced, performed. and directed plays for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Vault Festival, and UK wide regional tours. I am meticulous, organised and creative at the same time and prior to setting up Fledgling Theatre, I worked in several administrative and production assistant roles. It was in these positions that I learnt a great deal of administrative and organisational skills crucial to my later work in production. Prior to my work as a writer and producer I worked as an administrative assistant at the International New York Times in London where I gained administrative and editorial experience within the syndication department. I was responsible for diary management for the EMEA team, logging and co - ordinating requests to purchase media, and negotiating the rights to media within the EMEA region.
