Independent MusicianCasey Sana
- London, United KingdomFull Time
Over the past few years I have worked independently as a musician, gaining expertise in every sector of the music business; from improving my 14+ years of content creation expertise, to registering works with Performing Rights Organisations and back-end admin responsibilities. I've devised a list of the main experience & skills I've developed over this time period, which include:
- Learning & fine-tuning the key steps of the release and promotion of a successful single/project, both front end and behind the scenes.
- Collating assets in an efficient, tidy and easily accessible manner.
- Managing multiple tasks at once and prioritising the most important [a great example of this is a project I recently completed where I released a new song every 2 weeks for an entire year... This meant writing, registering & scheduling all releases, scripting, recording & editing at least 2 pieces of content per day for the duration of the project [scheduled and distributed over 3 different platforms], planning & directing all music videos, outreaching to promoters and festival bookers to secure live shows, and a myriad of other daily tasks over the 52+ week period.]
- Developing a presence on social media with short-form content to cultivate a devout community of fans, using key points of the “Fan Funnel”.
- Launching a merchandising website to diversify income and integrating Shopify with POD [Print-On-Demand] suppliers to ensure smooth fulfilment of orders.
- Providing unique fan activations and investing time into CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
- Project budgeting and processing invoices.
- Working to tight deadlines with content creation & scheduling, whilst ensuring a high-quality turnaround.
- Registering songs with distributors, PROs & royalty collection agencies to maximise artist income.
- Gaining insight on videos through analytics data, then organising key data on spreadsheets when testing various elements in a campaign.
- Independent outreach to secure festival slots & radio play.
- Correctly setting up Live Audio equipment, packing down after use & maintaining individual parts to ensure longevity and quality.
