My position at BEIS involves me working across three receptions in two buildings. I work with the MSOffice suite; and Condeco and Matrix room booking systems. As part of the front desk reception for both BEIS and the other departments based in 10 Victoria Street, I make sure that visitors, often cabinet ministers, have access arranged and that the correct people are notified about arrivals and messages left with reception. Alongside this I maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and administrative staff around the building. After an initial period, I have been moved to take sole responsibility for the reception at 10 Victoria Street which serves multiple government departments, some highly secure. It has been particularly important to maintain relationships with the administrative assistants in each department to communicate efficiently with personnel throughout the building.

I worked across a variety of catering and hospitality roles through Off To Work. I was responsible for VIPs on multiple occasions such as at the Ascot Racecourse where I looked after viewing boxes, and at business functions for senior directors and executives. I built my client-facing skills throughout my time in this role and learnt how to adapt to new environments while on the job.
