Generating sales for a range of luxury and contemporary brands within Selfridges & Co • Working towards individual sales targets • Delivering a personal and tailored service to customers • Taking general phone calls/ customer queries • Maintaining awareness of latest news and trends in the luxury industry
Working in a fast-paced PR agency, this role focused primarily on gaining social, print and online coverage for our clients' brands amongst some of the UK's top editors, bloggers, and influencers. Generating organic copy was the focus here, and incorporating our client's products and brands into a narrative that appealed to the media was the key to securing coverage and gaining exposure. During London Fashion Week, I ran my own social media initiative for one of our largest clients, sharing highlights from backstage and advertising products to their audience. Other tasks for the role included: • Crafting copy along with visuals for relevant media • Networking with the media influences to discuss our client’s brand and products. • Checking papers and magazines daily for client coverage and keeping up to date with current news. • Processing reports for client accounts and sending coverage to them daily. • Working on press events and representing clients – creating interest in the brand amongst editors and influencers in the industry
Assisting with the daily running of a small print department within Marie Claire magazine. • Conducting independent and in-depth research for articles due to feature in Marie Claire magazine • Brainstorming potential ideas and researching upcoming trends for future articles – both print and online • Communicating with PR companies and brands regarding products, samples, press releases and images for print • Researching and contacting brands to feature in the magazine • Keeping up to date with the latest news in the industry
Assisting with the daily running of the print department for Cosmopolitan magazine. • Transcribing high profile interviews to feature in Cosmo Magazine • Idea generation and research for upcoming articles • Communicating with PR companies and brands regarding products, samples, press releases and images for print • Attending launches and events to gain new insights and to discuss upcoming products and services for consideration to feature in Cosmo. • Researching and keeping up to date with news in the industry • Sending emails, taking phone calls, and general admin tasks
Generating traffic to the Oxfam social media pages and increasing sales. • Selecting new products to advertise to the public via social media • Writing original and persuasive content about new in products • Connecting with the online community via Instagram and Twitter • Finding interesting ways to photograph goods to post on social media platforms
Comprised equally of language and literature studies, this was a dynamic and varied course that encouraged research & analysis, theory, and both creative and critical writing practices. This course was also balanced between traditional and contemporary modules, providing context through important historical and political events whilst also strengthening necessary skills, such as writing for the web and creating effective rhetoric. Example of modules studied: Theory and Criticism, Multiculturalism, Language and Discourse, Gender Sex and Culture, Literature 1660-1830, Lifewriting, Shakespeare Studies.
