About me
As a textile designer, specialising in multi-needle embroidery I enjoy designing embroidery for fashion. My work involves designing and creating collars, orphreys, capes, trails and cuffs.
My sources of inspiration initially came from Irish dancing as I have been an Irish dancer for 18 years, however my inspiration then evolved to geometric styled designs, looking at a mixture of elements such as ecclesiastical design.
My colour palette initiated from bridal wear and with development, sequined material was my inspiration for colour, also wanting to combine it in my work using appliqué. I then relayed back to Irish dancing podium placing to add to my colour palette; first is gold, second is silver and third is bronze.
Appliqué, delicacy, detail, elegance, embellishment, precision, sequin, shape and uniqueness are the key words to define my embroidered designs.
