Arts Writer

About me

I've very recently returned from my travels and am now currently seeking exciting opportunities within the arts editorial sector. I have a great deal of experience working at a junior level at various creative companies, assisting in the day to day running and promotion of the business. I now want to expand my content writing skill set, which I have developed by writing articles, newsletters, press releases and blog posts for the various companies I've worked for over the past few years. I am passionate about creating engaging features, with a focus on the field of visual arts and design.

Studio Assistant

Print Club London

Sep 2016 - Jan 2018
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Full Time
  • During my time at Print Club I had the opportunity to be actively involved in the running of their online gallery, open access print studio and creative co-working space. Working as part of a small core team, I gained experience of working in an entirely creative and fast moving environment, being the first point of call for members, tenants and customers alike. A customer focused role, I managed the online store dealing with all orders and queries for e-commerce customers and interior clients. Working alongside suppliers, I maintained relationships and ensured all ink, packaging and equipment are consistently stocked. Co-ordinating and working at events held in our gallery and locations such as Somerset House, I have experience of managing staff whilst working in a busy, dynamic setting. I also worked uploading artist profiles, images of work and maintaining correct stock levels of available prints onto the back end of our Wordpress website. I regularly created newsletters through Mail Chimp for upcoming shows and new artist work, along with actively promoting content on social media channels to a planned schedule. Providing desk space to over 50 tenants, I was responsible for daily maintenance and housekeeping duties of shared co-working space and the first point of call for any issues or complaints.

E-commerce Assistant

Jul 2014 - Aug 2016
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Full Time
  • With my passion for illustration and design being key to this role, I sourced suitable artists to work with, developing ideas and designs into a finished product for retail within the art print, gifts and stationery sectors. Acting as point of contact for stockists, aligning items with relevant gift shops, galleries and retailers, building relationships with existing wholesale customers alongside seeking new ones. Managing e-commerce activity, I created written SEO enabled content for website copy, newsletters and promotional printed material, along with coordination of social media posts. I dealt with processing all website orders, answering customer queries, organising couriers and mail.

Mar 2014 - Jul 2015
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Freelance
  • During my time here, I enjoyed creating written content for a high traffic, design blog and printed magazine 'Print Isn’t Dead.' After researching creative individuals and events to feature, I would compose interviews and articles showcasing artistic talent within the realm of print.
