About me
I am a multidisciplinary Visual Artist, Set Designer, Prop Stylist & Maker with a passion for aesthetics as well as a great sense of narrative and colour.
With a background in Set Design my work is often playful and surrealist. I have experience with a wide variety of practical skills such as Prop Making, Scenic Painting, Sourcing, Set Dressing, Sewing and Basic Set Building.
During my time in the industry I have worked within a diverse range of roles with clients in Theatre ( The Lighthouse Theatre, Poole), Events (Somerley Tea Party Festival & Good Vibrations Festival), as well as Film and Editorial.
Moreover, I am accustomed to working with specific briefs, tight budgets and deadlines as well as translating & developing the ideas of others into creative and innovative concepts.
Apart from having a great drive for my practice I have an eagerness to
keep learning new skills and approaches within the industry and I thrive when working in a team and collaborating with other people’s visions and opinions. I also consider myself to have good leadership skills when needed.
I am committed to bring to work a strong dedication and an
enthusiasm, as well as a creative and dynamic personality
Projects
- Lead Scenic Artist & Prop Maker/Sourcer for 'No Name'Throughout this production I assisted the Set Designer in multiple ways. I developed all the the scenic samples that were needed for this project in accordance to the set designers needs, meanwhile I also sourced and made all the props required for this production. This was a very big project therefore I also had to manage and direct my team whilst keeping track of my allocated budget. As the Set Designer's Assistant I was also present in all the Production meetings and represented her whilst liaising with collaborators and other members of the team.
- Production Designer for 'The Glass Slipper' CommercialMy duties were, first of all, to come up with various designs for the 5 different eras & locations this short was set on. The challenges of this project were multiple, mainly because the budget was small and it needed 5 different sets ranging from a 17th Century Kitchen to a 1950s Wedding. Amongst my responsibilities as a production designer I also had to schedule, liaise with and manage my team, source and make/build all of the props and furniture pieces, paint and decorate the sets whilst always keeping track of the budget and time frame we had available. It was a very challenging project but the end result was great and the short film was featured in multiple online publications (The Drum, Fubiz, Ads of The World and The Daily Mail) as well as achieving an award for The Drum Ad of The Week.
