Hola! I’m Carmela, a Brazilian illustrator & animator currently based in Barcelona.
I enjoy working on all sorts of projects, from print and editorial to digital illustrations and animations. Through my work, I strive to portray characters that exude confidence, pairing power stances and unbreakable eye contact with gritty textures and subtly curved linework.

- Penguin Random House | Taste TestIllustrations for Taste Test: 200 Trivia Questions For Food Nerds. The game is made up of 200 multiple-choice trivia cards that cover culinary pop culture, cooking tools and techniques, ingredients, and regional dishes. I created illustrations for the box and each of the cards. This project was chosen as part of the Society of Illustrators 64th annual exhibition and book in the Surface/Product Design Category.
- Amazon | Pride Out LoudSeries of illustrations created for Amazon's Pride Out Loud campaign for Pride month 2022. The project was created with creative agency Yard NYC and strived to celebrate queer joy. To me, Pride Out Loud is about taking a moment to celebrate our history while continuing to fight for equality and justice. - 21WallpaperI was invited to be one of the participating artists in 21wallpaper's batch no. 8. Every three months 7 of the world’s best illustrators and designers publish 3 of their works as wallpapers for desktop and mobile. - Time's Up Now X Society6 CollabTime's Up Now and Society6 collaborated with 12 women artists to create a collection of artworks representing the Time's Up movement.
