     - SingaporeFull Time
As part of front of house training I worked shifts in multiple roles such as at the combination counter (box office and concession bar), as a runner in the kitchen, ushering and projection. As part of my projection training, I learned how to work with Composition Playlists (CPL) and Show Playlists (SPL) using a Theatre Management System, Library Management System, and Screen Management System, how to ingest the CPLs that arrive in Digital Cinema Packages, how to map titles to the programming schedule as set by Headquarters, some basic cleaning and general maintenance of the projectors used, and some general work on how the servers, projectors and audio equipment worked to ensure a seamless film presentation for our patrons. Shift work was allocated by managers in accordance to the weekly programming needs as well as where I needed to complete my training. I also started training in some managerial duties such as opening and closing the registers and box office at the start and end of each day, ensuring that any cash vouchers, as well as float money was accounted for and matched the point of sale system reports.

    Content Production Manager (intern)Precision Bit
     - SingaporeInternship
My main responsibility was to serve as the in-house video editor at PrecisionBit, a technology startup. Its product, Groupstar, was a project management platform and app that allowed large enterprise to shoot and compile videos remotely. These videos were mostly used for internal communications, to get across important information in an engaging way, as well as for client outreach and management by, for example, insurance companies. My job was to edit these disparate clips from our clients and apply an animated graphics template to the finished video, ensuring our client’s message is conveyed articulately and in a more engaging fashion compared to their previous tendency to send text-heavy updates. I subsequently also took over as Account Manager for a client after convincing our CEO that it would be more time and cost effective, thus freeing up her own time to be used on more urgent matters. Not only did I assist the client in explaining our process and ensuring that video edits were accomplished in a timely fashion, I also helped them on-site, trained them in the use of our digital tools and helped in the creation of a client handbook that detailed the best practices for video recording to ensure quality results each time. In between projects, I also took it upon myself to learn the ins and outs of Adobe After Effects to produce simple and original graphics templates that we could use. This led to many discussions with the CEO and Founder concerning business development, and we were able to explore the idea of pricing models based on a package of original graphics templates available to them. As it was a small start-up, I juggled multiple responsibilities and staff turnover was quite high. Before I left, I published a first draft of a Standard Operating Procedure guidebook for my successors which served as an efficient way of onboarding as well as a good template for my colleagues in other roles to work with for their own duties. I learned a lot from my various duties in the context of a high-pressure environment and really pushed myself to always take the initiative to help and optimise workflow processes to the best of my ability.

BA (Hons) Liberal Arts with a major in Film StudiesKing's College London
     - London, United Kingdom
I am a graduate of King’s College, London and hold a Second Upper class Honours degree in Liberal Arts with a major in Film Studies. This programme allowed me an academic focus but also to draw from a myriad of disciplines, giving me a unique perspective on how they commingle and further informing my major studies. I took modules from across the Humanities, from food and philosophy in film to travel writing, american pop culture to ancient Pompeiian history and society. Each course afforded me the opportunity to analyse the similarities and differences between and within civilisations and recognise patterns that I would not have otherwise.

Diploma in Mass CommunicationNgee Ann Polytechnic
     - Singapore
I graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communication and a GPA of 3.6/4.0 from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. The programme included a large amount of hands-on project and team work alongside more traditionally academic courses on media theory that were assessed via written essays and timed exams. I learned about media production in its various forms via hands-on courses like online and broadcast journalism, location video, radio, and TV studio production, writing for magazines and news as well as speech, graphic and web communication. The business aspect of the media industry was also explored with modules on media management and and research methods. Other than content production, I also took modules on marketing, puclic relations and events management. For most of my modules, I took on the leadership role in our team project work. This wide range of subjects gave me the special opportunity to really understand how media theories, marketing strategy and content production intersect in practice to optimise reach and impressions.
