About me
Hey I'm Charl, an artist and designer from Merseyside, based in Scotland. I grew up surrounded by nature and this became the main inspiration for my work, from collecting shells and fossils as a child I learnt how to set them into jewellery at university, and from admiring the beauty of my washed up sea finds I grew to make textured metalwork trying to capture the rough nature of the ocean. I have always had a strong appreciation for the environment and try to show the importance of this through my designs. I hope that through my work I connect people with their love for the environment and make people stop, think and look a little closer at the beauty of the natural world around us. Projects
  • Lost Wax Cast rings
Lost Wax Cast ringsBy using the method of lost wax casting, I have been hand carving bubbly, organic shaped rings inspired by the ocean. Each ring is completely unique and made to the customers desired size and style. I cast these rings into recycled silver, saw, file and polish them into the pieces seen below. I'm loving this new way of working and have more pieces in the making which I can't wait to show! Insta: dust.designs
  • Lockdown Collection
Lockdown CollectionDuring these times and having no access to a studio, I wanted to remain creative and make jewellery but now from home for the time being. This is why I started working with polymer clay to create a jewellery collection at an affordable price. Here I will include some images of the pieces and the link to my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/dustdesignsshop/
