I am currently based in the Dispute Resolution legal department, where my role includes but is not limited to: • Editing practice notes and standard documents for publication using Arbortext and Fatwire • Coding content and researching legal updates • Calculating monthly business intelligence statistics from raw data • Organising content schedules in Excel and Planning Editorial Tools • Maintaining contributory material for monthly updates • Writing and formatting the weekly e-mail sent out to subscribers • Sub-editing the PLC magazine • Trawling for stories and cases to cover, whilst pitching ideas to differentiate us from competitors such as Lexis Nexis • Recently volunteered to assist in the art directive of new marketing images
As the Co-Ordinator and Assistant Director of the gallery, I have: • Co-ordinated group and solo exhibitions from local, U.K. based and international artists • Compiled and implemented various marketing plans for press promotion, attracting new buyers, and developing a privileged list of clientele • Organised the installation turnaround for each exhibition • Developed partnerships, advertising and sponsorships with other companies for opening night press views
• Content creation for the site – articles, news stories and reviews • Researching, arranging and transcribing interviews with musicians, designers, artists • Attending and photographing concerts, exhibition openings and film previews up to strict deadlines • Pitching feature ideas for the magazine and column ideas for the website • Assisting with content decisions (e.g. print layout, cover shoots etc.) • Social media connectivity – updating Facebook pages, monitoring Twitter accounts and interacting with followers/likers through content posting and replies • Researching content for social media channels • Liaising with bloggers/other publications for the online platform I accepted the role as assistant editor, proof-reading copy, sub-editing features, and co-ordinating with the art director to create the printed issues as of June 2013. Our latest issue consisted of an increase in advertisement, content, and four separate cover stars whilst overhauling previous designs, from the layout to fonts.
