About me
My practice lies within the specialism of print design for an interiors purpose. My passion revolves around the context of developing surface pattern designs for the home environment. As a designer my work is influenced by my constant attraction and fascination to the natural world, which I explore and develop concepts in different approaches to inform my direction of work. My practice involves a large drawing and painting based approach to working that is diverse in style, exploring form, colour, composition and also illustration. I have recently completed my final year at Manchester Metropolitan University and now keen to gain valuable experience within the textiles industry to broaden and develop my skills.
Projects
  • Summer Blooms
Summer BloomsInspired by floral arrangements, this project explores expressive, vibrant florals and how flowers can affect our emotions in positive ways. My aim for this project was to create a range of still life paintings suitable for table linen and kitchenware for the English homes kitchen and garden, focusing on a summer inspired colour palette to evoke feelings of positivity that the summer months bring.
  • Graduate Portfolio
Graduate PortfolioMy work has always been driven and influenced by my love of colour and detail. I explore themes of nature due to my fascination with the natural world, from every day experiences to influences from my travels. I am drawn to creating artwork that provokes connection, optimism and also curiosity. Intertwining this passion into surface pattern designs for the home environment.
  • Portuguese Paradise
Portuguese ParadiseThis project focuses on bringing the nature and wildlife to life of the Madeira Island I hold close to my heart, Porto Santo. Creating a captivating, semi tropical collection of prints suitable for wallpaper, bedding and nightwear within the modern contemporary home. This project provokes feelings of escaping to distant shores through the use of print design, allowing you to experience my version of paradise.
