    Senior DesignerWestco Trading
     - London, United KingdomFull Time
Working in a fast paced design studio as the core senior designer for over five years, it was essential to understand every level of the design process, enabling me to assist and mentor my juniors and also advise clients to make sure we created the best possible solutions within the tight deadlines. I acted as the deputy to the creative director and directly managed and creatively directed projects throughout the studio. Working in a small team I was also designing, typesetting and artworking regularly, often contributing at different levels across multiple projects and for a variety of clients. I also acted as a mentor to junior members of the team, being responsible for their technical training and design development. In 2012 I was instrumental in a complete restructure of my team, creating a fully costed business plan and winning the backing of the Director of Communications to implement all of my recommendations. My plans revolutionised the way the team worked bringing in two projects managers to a previously designer only team. This improved the teams cost forecasting for jobs and enabled better budget management and improved client relations.
