About me
Mixed media visual Artist working primarily with photographs, collage and paint.
Through an examination of its meaning to me and my interactions with it, my practice examines my relationship to the Black British culture and my heritage as a Nigerian woman. I record the experiences, tales and memories that have influenced and moulded me into the person I am today. Making is a storytelling technique where pictures are used in place of words. Collages are used in my paintings to organise the image within the space. My works often begin with photographs, using images from my collection. These are my images, found images and images that people have supplied to me for usage. Colour also plays a critical part in my art. I always aim to create work that is bold in colour captivating the attention of the viewer.
