Stayed abreast of changes to school and government policies as well as new trends in education by attending professional development courses and in-service trainings. Adapted standard curriculum to meet the needs of students online and in person and evaluated key moments to apply scaffolding for online students and support them through independent study. Applied knowledge of social constructivism theory to design curriculum content, using instructional methods such as research projects, problem-based learning, brainstorming, collaborative learning, guide discovery learning, to increase learning and participation. Collaborated with the Literacy Curriculum Lead to restructure lesson delivery with a particular focus on implementing purposeful speaking and listening activities that extended pupils’ expressive and receptive vocabulary; collaborative learning activities where pupils shared their thought processes; and structured questioning that developed reading comprehension. Evaluated and revised lesson plans and course content to facilitate and moderate classroom discussions and student- centred learning. Leveraged the use technology to offer a variety of learning opportunities and approaches that engaged, instructed, and supported special need learners.
