I was employed previously by ed-tech startup company RealiseMe, where I worked hard on their marketing campaigns, branding, building an active following and developing social media presence. Previously, I worked as a journalist and additionally carried out a variety of editorial and design roles for Bromley Borough News and County Border News.
I graduated in 2016 from the University of West London with a 2:1 degree in Broadcast Journalism and a thirst to embark on a unique career path, where I could express my creativity and writing skills on a regular basis.

I worked as a Content and Social Media Manager at ed-tech company RealiseMe for a year and four months, only leaving when the Coronavirus situation unfortunately made my job redundant. The role involved being in charge of the company's Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts, posting professional and relevant content for our following of teachers, NQTs and schools. I analysed the reception of each post using Google Analytics as well as Facebook Insights and Twitter Analytics to constantly be on top of what was working well and getting the most engagement, adapting and tweaking each future campaign appropriately.
I designed, managed and sent out targeted marketing campaigns using sites such as SendGrid and Force 24, including monthly newsletters and emails. I successfully mastered using Hootsuite to schedule important posts, Microsoft Excel to keep spreadsheets of our figures and Trello to keep on top of my workload. I was able to learn a great deal about SEO and key words and how they can be cleverly used to improve marketing strategy; I also created our LeadPages site, making sure that the branding, wording and content was the best it could be and worked on the campaigns surrounding our app launch last summer and our e-book.
I also thoroughly researched and wrote all of our regular blog content which was published monthly on our Wordpress site. I liaised with teachers and schools who were starting the sign up process with RealiseMe and was on stand by to iron out any issues or problems.
This role was mostly remote so I learnt a lot about organising myself, managing my own workload and coming up with my own creative ideas, trying them out, seeing what worked excellently and what needed working on. I learnt to be a lot more independent and confident in my work.
