About me
I am currently approaching completion in a Diploma of Events. This course has given me an in-depth look into the event industry and the running of events. This includes looking at everything from; food and beverage operations, gaining sponsorship, identifying and managing hazards, project management, complying with regulatory requirements, enhancing customer service, leading and managing people, coordinating registrations and managing finances within a budget. In this course we also work in a group to plan and run multiple real-life events from start to finish with both internal and external clients. In addition to this I am currently undertaking Practicum Placement with the Accommodation Association of Australia (AAoA). This involves working in industry and putting my studies into practice. On behalf of the AAoA I work with sponsors, current members and potential members. In my role I am constantly using initiative to create research documents, assist with the planning and running of events and forums, update databases and complete essential event related documents such as action plans and run sheets. In my work abroad in 2016 I strengthened my world knowledge and my global views. My role required very strong organisational skills and clear, precise communication. I had to take initiative, be proactive and patient and multi-task. My experience as a supervisor at Gloria Jeans Coffee involved many duties such as; Managing and ordering inventory, working with money, overseeing deliveries, recording and handing in my own time sheets, answering the phone in a clear friendly voice while greeting and assisting the customer, collecting mail for the store, depositing the banking, working with the store owner to improve the store and greeting customers as they enter. I am exceptional at problem-solving under pressure and always have a positive, friendly attitude. I am commit fully to everything that I do and I am very motivated. Whilst being new to the industry, I am very ambitious and I believe that I can bring a lot of valuable skills to your company. I am a fast and eager learner and am always willing to take on any challenge I am faced with.
