About me

Fine Art Graduate with a Gold-Standard NCTJ qualification including 100wpm shorthand qualification. I am all about promoting and celebrating culture whether it be Art, Music, Theatre, Film, anything. Having spent years volunteering predominantly in galleries and festivals I want to be able to work full time within music or the arts, rather than constantly subsidising it by working in a bar full time and having to do projects on the side. At the moment I run a couple of radio shows on 1 Brighton FM (PRBH Radio and Pebbles Rock), also running a blog called Art In Brighton.

  • Part of a team of three that produce a live bi-weekly radio show interviewing local artists, musicians, community projects, charities and all sorts of other wonderful things that Brighton has to offer. We are a community show with a real push for societal change brought on by activism and grassroots movements in particular. I also have just started a new rock show for the station called Pebble Rocks which will celebrate alternative/rock music in and around Brighton. My personal highlight was having Laurie from Slaves (headline act at The Great Escape) come into the station to co-host the show live, as well as interviews with Sampa The Great, Adam Naas and Zeal & Ardor amongst loads others. This website, originally intended as a light-hearted look at the visual arts in Brighton has quickly established itself as a serious publication within the art world in Brighton. This is due to it's lack of purely visual arts magazines and listings websites focused on Brighton's unique visual arts, a vacuum that Art In Brighton aims to fill. It has since expanded as I have focused more on music too, covering Brighton Festival (2016 and '17) and finally extensive coverage on this year's Great Escape Festival.   • Joined in November to replace an outgoing administrator. Helped to organize the Brighton Science Festival covering all facets of the Festival, from production on the events themselves to Marketing, Social Media Management, Press Management, as well as managing a team of 79 volunteers single handedly. Personal highlights include managing the Bright Sparks event of over 3500 visitors, including the team of volunteers I put in place. Part of a fluid team of 4 whose joint effort creates the Brighton Science Festival.

Part of the team that runs all aspects of the gallery including day to day running of the exhibition, ensuring the gallery is clean, managing email addresses including press or personal enquiries, organizing volunteers for events and exhibitions, curating the space, deciding on exhibitions, manning private views, keyholder for space. Personal responsibilities particularly focused on marketing, writing blogs, curating online shop, editing website, writing press releases, managing Mailchimp and newsletters.

  • The Paper Partnership is a luxury wallcoverings company with a flourishing international reputation. We create inspirational designs across our diverse brands, producing innovative wallpapers that are available globally through an extensive network of exclusive distributors. My role was to help support the endeavours of our distribution partners in a variety of different ways by increasing The Paper Partnership's and our partners'​ presence. This is achieved through our social media and online presence, both of which I have been taken on to create content, edit and manage content for all. This includes brand specific messages and The Paper Partnership's ethos as a whole. Though we are at the beginning of this process we have seen some good feedback already. My other main role was to support the marketing teams of the distributors by helping to increase press attention on our young, but highly ambitious, company. I was part of a team that had a successful Heimtextil 2015 in Frankfurt, helping to run the stand at the biggest textile convention in the world. The company was accepted to Decorex 2015 and Maison & Objet Paris for the very first times whilst working there. My other roles varied day-to-day in supporting the Marketing Manager.   • I volunteered at Art Schism gallery in Brighton running their marketing side in a bid to promote the gallery within Brighton. This includes everything from content writing and website editing, sorting listings and organising press exposure for the gallery all done on an incredibly limited budget. This gave me some really invaluable experience and I loved the challenge of making them more ‘relevant’ in the Brighton arts scene. I helped to draft a marketing strategy, and my role is very much as it comes and goes. Roughly though my role includes writing press releases, organising and writing content for the website, running their social media, encouraging online traffic using SEO tools, designing posters (using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and leaflets, sorting listings and running day to day office administration. On top of this I have a hand in putting forward and enacting ideas for engaging people with the gallery whilst keeping the ethos of low cost art, run by artists. Please view the website here:

  • I worked with the Marketing Officers and Manager, learning about the marketing and PR side of this reputable Gallery. Using Word, Excel, Maxomail, WordPress, Indesign and Photoshop on a daily basis; I was entrusted with, but not limited to, the online and magazine listings, drafting content including columns, designing posters, flyers, e-flyers and e-newsletters, assisting with the social media and articles, press releases and other written material all within a ‘voice’ of an institution When required I helped to organise and run events, including photoshoots and events like our ‘Family Fun Afternoon’ and Private Views.
