I’m Clara (she/her), a multidisciplinary designer-artist-maker based in London from Barcelona. As a recent graduate of BA Graphic Design, I use my design skills to make work that plays with and subverts the boundaries of art and design. My research-based, often autobiographical, work focuses on storytelling, dissecting sociopolitical issues, global inequalities and, collaboration. I explore these areas through editorial, website design, branding, typesetting, writing and photography (and I’m slightly obsessed with mind maps and handwritten notes).
Projects
- Look at my Fallopian tubes!A human-sized garment that gives visibility to a body part that is systematically invisibilized, understudied and misunderstood - the internal female reproductive system, formed of the vagina, cervix, uterus, Fallopian tubes and ovaries. The idea for this project stemmed from an image of a real uterus I found. The aim was to personify and represent these organs in a three-dimensional, visually impactful way.
- UPLOADINGTraditionally, 3rd-year Camberwell Graphic Design students host a work-in-progress exhibition halfway through their final year. Due to the pandemic, this was not possible for us so we created a website to showcase the work of 60 students who were, at the time, dotted around the world. We aimed to unify the work, yet allow each creative’s character to shine through. We also made an A2 promotional poster sent to places as far as Peru, Shanghai and Portugal!
