Clarence Lin Artist

About me

Clarence Lin is an artist currently based in the United States. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University in the City of New York. He has participated in residency programs at the Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting and the Institute of Contemporary Arts and International Cultural Exchange. He has been the recipient of various awards and fellowships, including from New York Foundation for the Art, Getty Foundation, and the California Community Foundation. His works have been shown nationally and internationally.

Deer of MiyajimaDeer freely roam the island of Miyajima (or Itsukushima) in Japan, off the coast of Hiroshima, where they are considered sacred. Buildings in the city of Hatsukaichi are visible in the background.
Lights in RuifangThe dark mountainous landscape in the Ruifang District of Taiwan is lit at night by street lights on windy roads and boat lights visible in the nearby ocean. The Ruifang District of New Taipei City is known for its historic gold and copper mines.
Untitled (Smokestacks)Accelerated urbanization over the past few decades has led to rapid growth in Taiwan's population and the transformation of its natural landscape.
