My own project of creating an appealing and highly creative Point-of-Sale advertising campaign with a budget of over €250,000 including the creation of advertising media, displays, press releases and social media content, and the purchase of merchandising articles made me take huge responsibility, and taught me to work efficiently and independently under pressure. It was successfully sold to independent retailers nationwide with the effect of providing inflow of customers towards the Tchibo coffee range and green products, and enhancement of the B2B relation of Tchibo and its retailers. Further fields of duty include branding activities for the company’s premium coffee brand ‘Barista’.
As an employee of the press centre, I was responsible for checking journalists’ working permissions and for their press registration giving them access to trade shows, assisting press conferences, and providing general information about the trade shows to the media. I learnt essential skills in anger management and how to deal with different types of personalities in situations where I had to decline admission. Having worked part-time in the PR industry for nearly three years in total, I know how to communicate verbally and written in both English and German. I learnt how to deal with time pressure during stressful events, and how to stay focused, organised and disciplined until the last line of a press release comes to perfection. As a freelancing PR assistant and copywriter, I was responsible for writing PR texts for brochures and press releases about e-readers for the Leipzig Book Fair 2012 as well as copywriting. Moreover, I conducted small scale market research about the book market in East Europe.
