About me
I have recently graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, studied Three-Dimensional Design, specialising in Jewellery. Although I have specialised in Jewellery, this course has given me the opportunity to experience and try out several different skills and media including glass, ceramics, wood and product design. This has given me an insight into these other aspects, giving me an understanding of the different areas of design, in addition to my specialism. My interest and passion in relation to designing and making jewellery, has arisen from the intricate, contemporary features of jewellery. For example, obtaining the simplicity of designs yet achieving complex visual impacts when worn and also when off the body are challenges which I have enjoyed overcoming. This has inspired me to research and develop these aspects, resulting in experimenting and gaining skills to create jewellery items of my own design.
Projects
  • Geometric Inspired
Geometric Inspired This collection is a direct focus creating visually appealing items with geometric shapes. Inspired from two-dimensional drawings, which are then translated and transformed into three-dimensional forms. Exploring how to provide these forms as jewellery items when worn on the body whilst creating a visual impact when the items are independent from the body. The results of my designs and pieces represent a refined, angular and multi-purpose style using geometric shapes. Each piece is individually hand-made, using traditional silversmithing techniques, creating a visually distinctive cutting edge effect whilst providing pieces that are wearable, and are therefore commercially appealing.
