About me
Cleo began her career in PR at Freud Communications on their talent team. She helped to plan The Olympic Torch Relay and other big events for Pepsi, Guinness, Walkers, Children in Need and Trinny and Susanah, as well as looking after talent at film events and photo-shoots across the Freud Portfolio. After moving into private events in the music and arts industries, Cleo studied Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion and went into the beauty world of magazines. Wanting to expand her knowledge and skill-set, Cleo completed the work-based learning Graduate Teacher Programme and became fully qualified in a year and a half. She ran a two-form entry Nursery in the Barbican, where she managed ten staff and seventy children, also catering to twelve statemented children under five who had special needs. Now fully equipped, Cleo returned to the events world, taking up the role of Retail Editor and Special Events Manager at Conde Nast’s WIRED Magazine. Here she planned and executed bespoke private dinners and events with C-suite guests, both in London and abroad, as well as working on their 8 major annual conference events. In addition to her event production role, Cleo delved into the business side of magazines, including brand sponsorship. She worked closely with brands to design gifts for WIRED events, ensuring cool and innovative brands had a chance to showcase their innovations and bring the WIRED World to life. Cleo has now started her own company, working freelance in luxury events production. She is excited to say that the world is her oyster!

As the Retail Editor I liaised with PR’s, took a variety of client meetings, organised gifts for our events speakers, created contra deals to have both cool new and established brands at our events and really used my role to network and grow the brand as a whole. In my Events Coordinator Role, I would organise from start to finish our private dinners for clients on the more corporate side- Accenture, Pictet, Audi. This would include designing invitations, creating menus, ordering flowers, managing the overall look and feel, budgeting, and welcoming and introducing guests (all CEO’s) to each other etc. Hosting round table dinners, chaired by our then editor David Rowan, would take place at Vogue House or at other venues. I was also responsible for orchestrating our tech gatherings abroad, as often just myself and the editor would fly out to Istanbul or Tel Aviv as team of two. I would organise, coordinate, execute and look after the clients and their needs at all times. These events were always exhilarating and took a great deal of excellent planning, management and showmanship.
