About me
I am a highly experienced arts producer and programmer with a significant track record in devising, generating and producing new collaborations between film exhibition and the arts under the term ‘Live Cinema’. I have curated innovative programmes and new art works inspired by and responding to the moving image, advising and partnering with cultural institutions across the UK, Ireland and the USA. Past work includes collaborations with Academy Award nominated composer Mica Levi, electronic pioneers Wrangler, and avant garde artist Jennifer Walshe, incorporating their artistic work into cinematic and non-‐ cinematic events and festivals. I am also a skilled arts journalist (The Guardian, Sight & Sound, frieze et al) and festival programmer (Cork Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, and many more).

Creative ProducerI devised the concept of the Unfilmables – commissioning artists to create soundtracks to films which don’t exist – and collaborated with Mica Levi and Wrangler on this event which toured throughout the UK in 2017. My production responsibilities included sourcing artists and working as artist liaison; writing all marketing copy and ensuring the concept appealed to diverse audiences; ensuring the films were delivered by the artists on time and within budget and within a curatorial coherency; working with venues/artists on tech spec/set up/load ins; overseeing the tour of the event; working as ‘London liaison’ for Live Cinema and entirely producing the London leg of the event at the BFI in June 2017. The Unfilmables received national and international coverage and acclaim; I also was the recipient of an ‘Innovation in Film Exhibition’ award for the concept from This Way Up/BFI.

I devised and co-produced the Unfilmables concept for Live Cinema UK where I commissioned two composers - Oscar nominated Mica Levi and electronic supergroup Wrangler - to create soundtracks to films that don't exist. I developed the ideas with the artists and created a UK tour, securing national and international press coverage and selling out major venues.

During this period, I have written extensively for outlets across the UK, Ireland and the US including The Guardian, Sight & Sound, New Statesman, frieze, Wire, British Journal of Photography, The Quietus, The Irish Times, numerous academic journals and many more. Accordingly, my writing style is flexible and can be sober/captivating/critical/persuasive where necessary. I’m also conscious of SEO skills; indeed, one of my Guardian articles was shared almost 8,000 times (see below). My work has ranged from writing on cultural geographies to interviewing internationally acclaimed authors to opinion pieces on folk horror and rural landscapes. I have amasses a huge range of contacts across the writing and culture sphere, traversing the worlds of PR, marketing, social media, and digital content.
