About me
I'm an illustrator, concept artist, and graphic designer based in London. In 2018 I graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration from the University of Plymouth. After this, I was a Brand Designer at Hamleys, an Illustrator at WildBrain Spark, and am now the Designer at Hello Lamp Post. I've been drawing and painting since I was old enough to hold a crayon, always inspired by the stories, characters and environments presented to me in the form of VHS tapes and theme park visits. When I'm not working, you'll find me exploring all corners of the world, be they near or far.

As part of WildBrain Spark's Art and Design team, my daily activities include storyboarding, background painting, character/prop/environment design, visual development and various ad hoc design tasks for YouTube based animated content - both 2D and stop-motion. This role has given me the opportunity on some great IP such as Teletubbies, Fireman Sam and Woody Woodpecker - and therefore huge clients (Mattel, Universal).

As part of Hamleys design team, I was responsible for the creation of visuals for both own-brand and branded suppliers. This applied to a wide range of platforms, including web, social, mobile, digital display, email, PR, visual merchandising and print. In collaboration with the Buying, Marketing and Franchise teams, I also regularly researched and developed fresh ideas and design directions for campaigns, including bespoke illustrations, typography, logos and applications for ATL/BTL communications targeting both B2C and B2B customers in the UK and international regions. After illustrating the 2019 Easter campaign, I was solely responsible for creating, standardising and implementing a consistent ‘Hamleys’ illustration style. On a day-to-day basis I was also: coordinating the production of promotional signage with the design team and liaising with the display team, managing internal and external print runs and approving print proofs to ensure effective and efficient delivery to stores, supporting the development of third party branded assets for key properties, licensors and licensees, producing technical print-ready packaging artwork, and ad hoc store development support.

     - Plymouth, United Kingdom
During the course of my degree, I explored a wide variety of areas within the creative industries, such as product and packaging design, editorial, graphic design and typography. My main focus, however, was been visual development/concept art for both animation and themed entertainment design. I received the Sustainable Earth Institute Fine Art award for my work as well as the University's Dissertation Award for my extended dissertation titled "How has Walt Disney Imagineering approached the responsible representation of real world cultures within their designs?"

During my foundation year on the UAL Art and Design course, I was able to experiment within the areas of textiles, three-dimensional installation, printmaking, photography, and graphic design, before focusing on my chosen specialism in illustration. My work in this year allowed me to develop an effective, intellectual-based enquiry in my studies, take part in group discussions and investigate historical and contemporary artists and designers relevant to my own work.
