About me
I'm a freelance Copyeditor and Proofreader, and an intermediate member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading. I began professionally working with words in 2019, after completing my MA in Modern and Contemporary Writing and graduating with a distinction. I was drawn to work with words as a result of my lifelong love of literature; I'm an avaricious reader and also write short fiction and poetry. I am keen to collaborate on editorial and creative projects.

Master of Arts - Modern and Contemporary WritingUniversity of East Anglia
     - Norwich, United Kingdom
I received a distinction. I specialised in modernism during my MA, focussing on the marginal genre of short stories written by women. Within this subject, I examined the influences of gender and psychoanalysis. I wrote my thesis on dissociation in the short stories of Dorothy Richardson. I continued to both study and write poetry, exploring the field of trauma theory and poetry's therapeutic potential. My belief in the value that literature (both the reading and writing of it) can bring to individuals and society as a whole was reaffirmed by my voluntary work assisting with creative writing workshops in prisons and primary schools.

First-Class Honours. I became interested in post-structuralist feminist literature, and my studies in this field also had a huge influence on the poetry I wrote for my creative writing modules. I combined this new interest with my long-standing love of Latin and mythology to write my final dissertation, which was on the nonverbal forms of expression in Ovid's Metamorphoses. My studies allowed me to freely exercise my creativity whilst also expanding upon my obsession with grammar and etymology. I now approach my clients' material with this unique balance of technicality and creativity.
