About me
Director, Editor + Photographer based in London creating smart, soulful, visually driven stories for brands, artists or agencies. My eclectic body of work has taken me all over the UK and Europe creating Brand, Lifestyle, Music and Comedy campaigns for Sudocrem, Barbican, Hamptons, The Royal Horticultural Society, Hyundai, Sainsbury’s, MTV, Scope, BT, London City Airport, Bloomsbury Publishing and EY. As a live action or self-shooting director, I work quickly in challenging environments with brands, artists, production companies or agencies, employing strategy, story and style across diverse projects like commercial, brand, music, comedy, corporate and animation. With playful takes on technology, arts, culture, history, parody set pieces, finding the light in between the darkness and finding any excuse to reference Bruce Springsteen. Whether live action directing with cast and crew, or as a self shooting director on smaller productions, my agile style has me at ease building interesting visual setpiece narratives or with well observed documentary moments and interviews. I photograph portraits, travel and behind the scenes stills on award winning film sets. • Barbican - Jean Dubuffet
Barbican - Jean DubuffetCommissioned by the The Barbican to create a mixed media contextual film for the exhibition “Brutal Beauty”, encouraging audiences to engage with the artist Jean Dubuffet’s impact on art. I put together Dubuffet’s top 10 tips for artists in a punchy, witty, narration-led edit using archival footage, artwork, stock and graphics. Once again, creativity is a problem solving process and that’s fascinating. "Jean Dubuffet believed that art was for everyone. He took inspiration from cave paintings, g
  • Bruce Springsteen at SxSW [mixed media]
Bruce Springsteen at SxSW [mixed media]Waaaaaaaay back in 2012 the mighty Bruce Springsteen gave his keynote address at SxSW, a thoughtful meditation on the creative process and process of life. This is just his peroration, he speaks about the way we are, the way we set out, and recognises the very simple truth of the duality of life. This is my mixed media visual response, a way of interpreting a philosophy that I have always had stuck on post it notes around my desk, that I think about when people wang on about absolutes and extr

  • Stop Motion Recipes
Stop Motion RecipesI'm in the home studio pushing what I can do with stop motion animation, creating a series of easy to make Jewish and Middle Eastern inspired recipes that I love eating and cooking (but mainly eating). When I look at a recipe I rewrite it a bit, using rough amounts (don’t @ me), break it down into easier steps that make sense to me so it’s less confusing, so I hope that this does the same for you if you want to give it a go. Scroll down for a bit of behind the scenes to see how I made them
  • Covid Essentials x15 [stop motion]
Covid Essentials x15 [stop motion]Inspired by @paugram’s #everythingwetouchcovidessentialsx15 challenge, I’ve been making a stop motion animation of of 15 essential things helping me get through lockdown. Ive used a few analogue items (that I refuse to throw away) to illustrate my story with a bit of creative license but you get the picture! This was challenging and fun to make using nearly 2000 photos. 1. Books: chugging through a lot of reading - spy novels, bios, photo books of London to remind me of what the city looks like
