About me
I am just completing a 2 year sales apprenticeship with DFS, I have become a valued and respected member of the team in the Maidstone store and I have gained my sales qualifications as well as completing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. I have learned a great deal about furniture, fabrics and interior design and also building a rapport/ relationships with customers. How to best understand their needs and deal with any objections as well as how to work as part of a team and really make a difference.
Retail wasn’t my first choice of a career but I have in the two years in my apprenticeship built so much confidence as a person, I wholeheartedly brought myself to the retail sector and achieved to the best of my ability.
I have always had my heart in fashion, I have tried something different however I feel I have built my people and communication skills and clarity to enable me to establish a good relationship with my customers and colleagues. I feel it’s my time to move on and follow my passion what I have always been interested in to gaining more experience, to bring on more challenges for me to succeed and to achieve more goals independently.
In the last year I have been awarded apprentice of the month for the whole company in all but one month, my aim was to be recognised for my hard work for three months in a row so I smashed that target. Now my apprenticeship is almost completed I am looking to move into working on a career in fashion. I have a lot of energy and enthusiasm for fashion and I would love to use this in my future career. I have always had an interest in the way fashion allows you to express and be yourself, I enjoyed studying all forms of art in school and college and have made my own clothes at home In the past. I enjoy giving style advice to friends and family about clothing, accessories and home design. I like to keep up to date with fashion trends but also to look at the past fashion cycle and I am happy to create my own sense of style. Currently I am great fan of Michael Kors but I like to keep all options open and research fashion trends.
