I started with fine arts but quickly realized a bigger appreciation for user centered design and visual communication. This eventually morphed into a passion for app and website design, the pinnacle of user centered design.
This lead me to graduate with a Bachelors of arts in Visual Communication, passing with distinction.
I have also gained 2 years experience in digital design working for a mobile software development company based in Cape Town. Before that I freelanced for a year as a graphic designer.

I was approached by HealthyHealth to complete their UI designs. Their UX along with a bunch of their UI screens were already complete. This was a great opportunity for me to take over a project with such a beautiful pre-defined visual style.
I focused most my time on:
1. Zeplin setup - I made sure all text styles, icons and colours were defined in Sketch so that the developers had everything they needed in Zeplin. I also organise the screens in Zeplin to make communication easy between developers, project managers and any future designers.
2. User Interface Design - I collaborated closely with the product designer to finish off the remaining screens and to make sure the design language was consistent throughout all screens. I refined the styles, checking that the Sketch file was neat and that the UI followed the style guidelines.
3. Developer support - In order to make sure development went as quickly as possible, I addressed developer queries. Making sure all icons were exportable and that we weren’t missing any screens. I made the suggested amends on certain screens to help reach deadlines.
