About me
I have a passion for illustration and drawing. Here is a little tid bit about me... I have illustrated for clients big and small. My work has been recognized by fancy institutions as well as my parents. I work from my home studio, producing bright and abstract works inspired by everyday life, spontaneous sketches and a certain joie de vivre that only a kid knows in summer vacation. My main focus is now illustration, as I also continue my 4+ year journey in digital graphic design. I am born and educated in South Africa, I've studied Communication Design & Art History at Rhodes University (Grahamstown). The challenge for me is to see beyond the distraction of the conspicuous to capture its 'unique self', as sometimes you can find a whole universe hidden in a single droplet. My inspiration: Pollock, Escher and The Process.
Projects

In all of these posters I strived to achieve a certain level of balance and composition, experimenting with what I can do with an Illustrator & Photoshop combo. I used a minimal approach in these posters and put my focus on visual hierarchy.
  • Magazine Project
Magazine ProjectThis project’s aim was to create a platform for young creatives, mainly based in South Africa, to exhibit their work. Minimalism played a very big role in customising the WordPress site, as well as the logo design. In the first phase of this project we used Dreamweaver to create the optimal layout, until we eventually switched over to a more desired theme. Quite often promotional poster design was also required for this 3-year project. The first rendering of the Archetype logo (see sketch), was
