Hi, I’m Darragh Cooney, a graphic designer with over five years of experience in branding, digital and print design. I am a recent graduate from UAL with a degree in graphic and media design.
I have a strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator) which I have been working with for the past eight years since the age of 14. I was given my first freelance job when I was 16 to create a rebranding for Key Management Systems. Last year I designed the logo for the 40th-anniversary celebrations for one of the largest LGBTQ+ nightclubs in Europe, Heaven.
Aside from graphic design, I have a keen interest in photography and films and like to occasionally dabble in VFX with Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D.

Projects
- RNBW - LGBTQ+ Cultural Arts FestivalFor my major project, I chose a predefined brief that asked to come up with the branding of a new (or redesign of an old) cultural arts festival. I came up with RNBW (Rainbow) - a brand new LGBTQ+ focused cultural arts festival, that allowed me to have fun with the branding and choosing of the type of acts that would ‘headline’ the event. The result is a fun, colourful vibe that is hopefully camp and appealing especially for an LGBTQ+ audience.
- The Design of the 2016 Presidential ElectionThis was for my first university project - we were tasked with designing a newspaper that focused on an area of design that we were interested in. I was very interested in the design of the American election campaigns and decided that I would focus my newspaper around that.
- BAFTA Film Awards 2016For my coursework project I decided to come up with a rebrand concept for the 2016 BAFTA Film Awards - a project that gave me a chance to show off a range of different visual styles, whilst also exploring different styles and methodologies. In the end I think I ended up with a really fun and interesting concept, with a high level of professionalism.
