Darren Doherty is a London based independent Writer-Director. Starting out as an animator at Spitting Image Productions, Darren went on to direct animated sketches for various comedy shows in the UK such as Friday Night Armistice, Mark Thomas Comedy Product and Crapston Villas. He worked on commercials, Idents and music videos in a variety of media, and his short films have been screened at numerous international film festivals worldwide. Darren was selected to take part in the Berlin Talent Campus in 2006 and Werner Herzog’s first European Rogue Film School in London in 2011. Darren is also developing feature projects and continues to make short films. ‘Tied’ has screened at various film festivals across Europe and was a nominee at the Limelight Short Film Awards for ‘Best Thriller’. Darren also works at AUB as a Visiting Lecturer, mentoring and running script surgeries.
