I'm Darren, a London based Product Design Lead.
User Experience & UI Design is my thing.
I am a very experienced Product Designer, and have many years experience working in cross-functional teams, large and small. I’m passionate about designing and building with the everyday user in mind and I believe that a User Centred Design methodology is pivotal to getting results quickly, as well as being essential to rapidly build, test and learn in order to design well informed products. I enjoy the challenge of making accessible design that is usable for all.
I also enjoy writing Swift and use Xcode to build native iOS apps, one of which; BrewTeaFul has been featured by Apple in the AppStore.

- Vocat - Learn Catalan with EmojiFor those of you that know me well, I’ve been studying Catalan for the past few years. Languages don’t come easily to me, especially when it isn’t widely spoken outside of of its native country, making resources scarce. This means that they usual apps don’t really meet my needs, so I decided that I wanted to make something that would help others starting to learn Catalan, that would’ve helped me when I began studying it a few years ago. - The Economist InsightsRedesigned global events website for The Economist The Economist is one of the world’s leading business and current affairs publications. The Economist had numerous web properties, each built on different content management systems and all with different design principles. Their events and insights division had three websites that were in need of integrating into one, much more comprehensive experience.
- BrewTeaFulBrewTeaFul is a self built app to help get the tea round right. Over 160 million cups of tea are consumed every day in the United Kingdom. That's a lot of tea and everybody has their own preference to how they drink it. BrewTeaFul helps you make the perfect round of tea every time. Create your own swatch chart for your friends and avoid messing up tea round.
- Center Parcs - EventsMicrosite specifically targeted towards busy PA's to stand out against other conference venues by highlighting Center Parcs unconventional facilities in an entertaining way. The site featured an office boss, who prompts you to interact with the options at the side of the screen. Throw water over him, hit him with twigs and more!
- Clarityn - iOS AppA simple concept bringing pollen forecasting to life. The Clarityn Pollen Forecast app enables the user to see pollen augmented onto the screen of their smartphone. The forecast is determined by the frequenty of on screen pollen particles. The app has been highly successful, with over 150,000 installs and has been featured on the 'Staff Favourites' section of the iTunes App Store along with winning an Econsultancy award for mobile innovation.
