David McDiarmid lives and works in Glasgow as an Artist/Curator/Fabricator, having previously studied a BA(Hons) in Painting at Gray’s School of Art (2013). He was a founding member and Co-Director of Visual Artist Unit, a Scottish-based artist collective that aims to support the professional development of emerging and early-career artists. He has also worked as an Assistant General Manager at Mexican restaurant, Topolabamba, Glasgow, since 2014.
With a local focus, David’s curatorial practice investigates issues of sustainability and precarity of artists’ practice in Scotland. He seeks to work with artists to produce projects that ultimately act as support structures for nurturing the development of emerging/early-career/financially vulnerable artists.
