I was responsible for managing and maintaining all building records for the university’s vast and varied estate using CAD, BIM and GIS systems, as well as
conducting regular measured building surveys to update floor plans. I was responsible for managing and maintaining records of the university’s extensive telecoms duct network using topographical mapping data, as well as providing detailed information to utility companies that are working near the university’s equipment to avoid potential damage and service interruptions. I was responsible for producing highly accurate and compliant plans and maps to support legal documents such as leases, ownership registrations and planning applications. This often required me to undertake in-depth research and to understand and interpret documentation for numerous sources, as well
as digitising historical hand-drawn plans to accurately plot ownership boundaries and other details such as easements, overages and constraints.
