Within this internship I worked closely with the sample room manager helping with cutting out of fabric for toiles and real garments. This internship developed my accuracy skills and attention to detail due to the types of fabrics that I worked with such as silks and chiffons. I also helped with hand embellishing and fixing garments such as wedding dresses for the collection and VIPs as well as helping finalise Dita Von Teese’s dress.

Whilst working at First Base I was able to work within all of the areas of the business including, production- working on specification drawings and measurements, design (creating CADs for the new collection), media and graphics (editing images for the website and Instagram) which expanded my skills and knowledge across the board. I also was in charge of the company blog where I had to channel the brands style and vision through the blogs I was writing
