Art Director
In my current role I have been responsible for the design and launch of several new newsstand titles including Digital SLR magazine and GP International; a new Formula One title. I am responsible for every stage of the creative process from art directing studio shoots,
commissioning illustrators and photographers to initiating new concepts and ideas. I am responsible for keeping the magazines looking fresh and continually updating them to keep in touch with current trends. I deal with external clients including contributors, printers and illustrators. I am also responsible for producing digital titles for desktop and tablet. I oversee the look and feel of several of Bright’s websites to ensure the brand identities of each title are replicated on the web.
I manage a team of 10 designers on a day to day basis
and I am actively involved in the interviewing and selection of new staff. I also continually monitor staff progress which includes appraisals and objectives.
