Chai Wu is a contemporary Chinese restaurant on the fifth floor of Harrods, the world famous luxury department store in Knightsbridge. I was looking for a new and challenging position and I found this place perfect to use and improve my costumer service skills and experiencing a personal and professional development. I developed an ability to deal with the food allergies to such an extent that my managers gave me the opportunity to train all the staff. I was nominated Employee of the month in November 2016.
As part of the opening of the opening team, this was my first time working with Asian food which was challenging in ways but found myself in my spare time searching all the different ingredients. In my time working I developed relationships with regular customers who would ask to be served by me when they came in which gave me even more pride in my work. In my time here I also developed a wider knowledge of wine as we had regular training with our suppliers. I was nominated Employee of the month in February 2016.
I was part of the events committee to plan and organize social, cultural, and educational events and collaborates with other organizations.
I always have the wish to work in a thrift shop and during the university time I've worked as volunteer in a vintage and second hand boutique called "Le Giraffe". My duties included help customers find what they were looking for, to ensure the store is well presented, to describe products features and benefits to a customer.
FAI is a national, not-for-profit trust and it is committed to promote a culture of respect for Italy's natural heritage, art, history and traditions. I enthusiastically took part for three years in a row to FAI Spring Day as a tourist guide.
I enrolled in the University of Bologna attending Fashion Cultures and Techniques course under the School of Arts, Humanities and Cultural Heritage. The course programme considers fashion a complex multi-disciplinary system of images, ideas, design, production and consumption where cinema, sociology, modern/contemporary art, economic, industrial design are all knitted together.
