Deborah Odubanjo is a womenswear designer who graduated at The University For The Creative Arts.
Deborah has always had an interest in creating concepts that conventionally may not seem to work, but aesthetically the ideas come together and create a new dimension of ideas.
Deborah focuses on building a strong concept that enables, ongoing development, focusing not only on the story and research behind the concept, but also on the colours, fabrics and the silhouettes and how these compositions also push a narrative in her collection.
Projects
- Careless ClashesDeborah Odubanjo’s collection is the bringing together with two rich cultures, clashed with the rebellious lifestyle in acid house culture and the rich African silhouettes. The concept focuses on the ‘careless clashes’ of garments and prints that are often misplaced together by Nigerians in the 80’s when they first arrive to the UK and the rebellious characteristic of acid house culture. Clashing crazy British floral prints with acid like scribble prints that are carelessly placed with tradition
