About me
Hello!
My name is Dicle, I’m currently a sculptor/jewelry artist.
I am experienced in Jewellery design, visual merchandising, sculpture making, artist assisting, film festival assisting( Turkish-English translations), Art fair assisting and participating in several creative team works both national and international.
I have 4 years fine arts high school degree, 1 year of polytechnic university experience (Yildiz Polytechnic University, Istanbul), followed by 4 years bachelors of arts degree in Sculpture (Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul), and masters of arts degree (MA by taught) in Jewellery Design (The CASS, London). I have also participated in European student exchange program while studying in Marmara University and went to Newcastle University Faculty of Fine Arts Sculpture department in the years between 2007 and 2008. I am originaly from Istanbul,Turkey and living in London, UK since 2013. Since I am a permanent resident of the UK and soon to become a citizen, I also have UK working permit.
I carry passion for generating unusual creative ideas and problem solutions since a young age. I love all forms of art and feel lucky enough to have a strong educational background in arts to support my passion and my creative process. In my most recent practices, I love designing bespoke, talismanic, sculptural jewellery with a witchy twist. I love creating unexpected artistic results in order to surprise the viewers and I always keep the child inside me alive which is the most important and valuable thing to me.
With an educational, professional and cultural background in design and art, supported with a strong passion for sculpture and jewellery , I put my knowledge and my soul into each solid or abstract thing I create.
I love generating interesting ideas, reverse thinkings, hugging trees, edgy characters, long creative brainstorms, quiet and lonely times to recharge, contrast combinations of minimalism and maximalism, science and spiritualism, black & white and such. Rather than fitting in standard boxes, I have always created my own boxes and happy places to feel inspired and to continue creating. My way of doing things is to give my heart and my soul to every piece of work I create.
I carry a big enthusiasm for natural science, natural rocks, fossils and all other natural elements and find them hugely inspiring to make art with. I see creativity as a limitless source and I am aiming to keep learning and outdoing myself as long as I am alive.
Thank you for reading!
Bests,
Dicle Erver
