Hi, there! I'm Diogo Portugal Mendonça a freelance art director / designer from Brazil. I'm currently living in São Paulo, Brazil. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and I've been working in advertisement and design since 2007. I love creating campaigns, drinking coffee, designing, drinking coffee, technology, interaction and innovation. Did I say I love coffee?
I worked side-by-side with Daniel Pérez Pallares, the former ECD from Grey Brasil, for our client Cachaça 51, the biggest cachaça company in Brazil. We created a new campaign for the brand, including the launch of a new application at SXSW in Austin, TX. I was personally responsible for the new product design and directly involved in the creation of their tv ads for 51 Ice (alcoholic beverage). There we also took a project for one of the biggest tire distributors in Brazil, Caçula de Pneus, which received the highest achievement at the Festival El Sol in innovation for our Tire Gauge project.
I was brought into Mullen Lowe Brasil as part of their new digital department. There I collaborated with other teams and departments to integrate and create digital experiences for their clients. Key clients: Bic, Asics, Unilever and Fini.
I created digital experiences and integrated campaigns for high profile clients, designed mobile apps, and started contributing concepts for campaigns. While there, I learned new approaches to advertising from great leaders in the field. Key clients: Absolut, HSBC, Coca-Cola, GSK, Hasbro, HBO, Gillette, WWF, Eukanuba, Volvo and Avon. Local clients: Rainha, Topper, Vigor, Senac and Gafisa.
I began as an art assistant and was quickly promoted to art director. I created digital campaigns, designed mobile apps, worked on idea conception, and learned strategies for integrated campaigns. Key clients: Embraer, GVT, Brookfield Inc., New Balance, Volvo (Trucks) and ESPN.
Timepix is a digital studio focused on webdesign. While there, I assisted with digital art direction, motion design, and on occasion, light weight programming in Adobe Flash. Key clients: Danone, Walmart, C&C and Sony Pictures.
